Fall News Letter

2012 A Year For The Record Books

Dear Valued Customer, October 2012

As in previous years we alert you to the consequences that unusual weather occurrences have on our landscape shrubs and trees. This winter was the mildest on record with hardly any snow fall. The spring started very early and was wetter than normal, and the summer was one of the hottest on record.

Especially large, mature trees such as oaks, beeches, sycamores and maples have had a difficult time coping with the changes in climate. The result is decreased vigor, early leaf drop, branch die back, and increased susceptibility for insect and disease damage.

The arboricultural professionals at Al Cherry Tree Service are proud to offer the following proven techniques to ensure that your trees remain healthy or regain their health going into the winter, the most challenging season of the year. Our Certified Arborists and qualified Horticulturalists employ Best Management Practices and use only organic and non-toxic materials and non-invasive techniques.

Below is a list of treatments we recommend especially at this time of the year. If you are interested in any or all of the applications or have more questions please don't delay since October through January is the best window for these remedial and preventative measures:

-- FALL FERTILIZATION AND AERATION FOR YOUR MATURE TREES ($50-$150)

  • ANTI-DESICCANT SPRAY FOR YOUR ORNAMENTAL SHRUBS AND SMALL TREES ($50-$250)
  • PREVENTATIVE PRUNING TO REDUCE WINTER BREAKAGE
  • HORTICULTURAL OIL SPRAY OR SOIL INJECTIONS FOR INSECT CONTROL
Please don't hesitate to call us at 215-672-6777, visit our website and blog at www.alcherrytreeservice.com, or contact us by e-mail at alcherry@aol.com.

As always, thanks for caring for your trees and landscape.
